Fees & Insurance
The rates for our services per session hour range from $150.00 to $175.00, depending on the training and experience of the psychotherapist.
House Calls Counseling is a Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) of Illinois Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) and will submit claims for clients who have BCBS PPO for their insurance. House Calls Counseling will verify benefits before beginning services. Please complete and email our insurance form
to firstname.lastname@example.org, or fax it to 847.256.2300. Once we have this information, we will send you a print-out of your eligibility and benefits summary along with an explanation of the printout.
However, verification of benefits is not a guarantee of payment. Therefore, in order to ensure the continuity of your working relationship with your therapist, it is the policy of House Calls Counseling that clients provide authorization for a credit card which will be charged for any amount indicated by BCBS (after it has processed a claim) on an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) as the “Patient’s Share.” We process charges around the 15th of each month. If there is a dispute about the “Patient’s Share”, we ask the client to address the matter with BCBS directly. After the matter has been resolved with BCBS, House Calls Counseling will re-submit claims to BCBS and adjust any associated charges.
For all other insurance carriers, we ask that clients pay the session rate at the beginning of each session and submit their own claims. The therapist will provide a receipt each session which will contain the full documentation necessary to submit claims. Payment may be made by cash, check or credit card.
For clients without health insurance, we ask that clients pay the session rate at the beginning of each session. However, if the cost of services may interfere with the ability to receive our services, clients are encouraged to discuss this with the intake coordinator or the therapist before beginning treatment.
We know that life can be busy and complex. The House Calls Counseling psychotherapist will work with you to schedule appointments at a time that works for both you and your psychotherapist. Therefore was ask that you contact your therapist at least twenty-four hours in advance if you need to cancel a session, except in cases of emergency. Appointments missed or canceled with less than 24 hours notice will be charged the usual rate.
