House Calls Counseling prides itself on its service to children and teenagers in foster and adoptive homes, to their families, and to the child welfare personnel who guide them toward stable permanency options.

It can be difficult getting children and teenagers to go to psychotherapy when they need it. Sometimes they don’t have transportation, they can’t get out of the house, they’re already overwhelmed with things to do, they just refuse to go. That’s why we work with clients in their homes – it’s more convenient, comfortable and private, and it’s highly effective. We can arrange office hours for clients when necessary.

The depth and range of our experience in child welfare means that each client served by House Calls Counseling benefits from an acute, thoughtful awareness of clinically related issues, supported by a well-rounded understanding of the child welfare system. The combined talents of our staff represent decades of direct and administrative experience in a variety of child welfare organizations.

We believe that excellent communication with all service providers enhances the entire array of services our clients receive. So we work with clients and their helpers to plan the kinds of solutions to pursue, and to develop methods to achieve those solutions. While we work to remove ourselves from the lives of clients as rapidly as is appropriate, we hold a high regard for the importance of a thorough process.
